Exterior of house enhanced to increase value
Exterior of house comprising its exterior walls, roof and ancillary improvements including its gardens is like the icing on a cake. Usually the first thing that a valuer sees is the house exterior. A bland or unkempt exterior with large cracks on walls, badly weathered roof tiles, run-down out-buildings and an overgrown garden, will give a poor first impression that will bring down the value of any property, even though the interior of the house might be nice.
Convert outdoor areas to low maintenance areas with such materials like pavers, stones, bark or sand. Landscape courtyards or gardens with footpaths, flower beds, planter boxes and a water feature. Remove a run-down garden shed or if still required, give it a facelift by repairing damaged areas and giving it a fresh coat of paint.
